Thursday, December 18, 2014 - Based on crude oil market assessments in the Short-Term Energy Outlook, EIA estimates that members of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), excluding Iran, will earn about $700 billion in revenue from net oil exports in 2014, a 14% decrease from 2013 earnings and the lowest earnings for the group since 2010.

Monday, December 15, 2014 - Maritime transport is the backbone of international trade and the global economy. Around 80% of global trade by volume and over 70% of global trade by value are carried by sea and are handled by ports worldwide. The final phase-out date for all single-hull tank vessels and all single-hull tank vessels with double sides or double bottoms, 46 USC 3703A, to operate carrying oil in bulk in U.S. waters, including the Exclusive Economic Zone, is January 1, 2015.

Tuesday, October 14, 2014 - Recent casualties involving explosions aboard barges conducting tank cleaning operations alongside marine terminals have resulted in serious injuries to vessel crews and facility workers, catastrophic property damage, as well as harm to the environment.
